That’s why we’re starting a new series—Behind the Atmosphere—a peek behind the scenes at the creative partners who help make workshops like this possible. First up, we’re thrilled to shine the spotlight on the incredible talent of Dragon Studio and the man behind the lens (and our friend), Mike Dragon.
Meet Dragon Studio: Capturing the Celebration
I’ve known Mike for well over a decade but he has been in the photography business for an impressive 20 years, starting in 2005 while still in college working on his photography degree. That early spark of passion hasn’t faded—in fact, it’s only grown stronger.
So why weddings and events? For Mike, the answer is simple: celebrations are where life’s magic happens. He says, “Weddings are a celebration, and celebrations are a great time. I love that every wedding and every couple is unique. It’s really special to be a part of such a big moment in someone’s life.”
It’s not just about taking pictures for Mike—it’s about making things. As he puts it, “I love making things. I love being creative. So when I get to do that, I’m happy.”

When asked about his ideal clients, Mike’s answer is refreshingly down-to-earth: “Everyday real people.” For him, it’s not about staging a perfect picture, but about capturing the authentic joy of couples who want a fun, easygoing approach on their wedding day.

He listens carefully, allows couples to share their vision, and makes them feel at ease in front of the camera. As he says, “After all, this is THEIR wedding day.”
