Pro Floral Design, Sketch, and Event Styling Secrets: Inside Our Immersive Hands-On Workshop Experience Recap

That was the magic of our Creative Sketch & Event Floral Design Workshop presented by Vivid Expressions LLC at the Town Point Club on March 4th, 2025 —an unforgettable experience that left attendees feeling empowered, inspired, and eager for more.

From the moment guests arrived at the sign-in table, the energy was electric. Each attendee received a carefully designed tag adorned with the attendee's name and a ribbon (more on that later), setting the tone for a day of elegance, artistry, and hands-on learning. As they stepped into the Town Point Club's Buoy event space, a breathtaking classroom-style setup awaited them—each seat thoughtfully prepared with all the tools they’d need for the day, from sketch pads and color wheels to aprons, floral clippers, and even a delicate bud vase filled with fresh blooms which the attendees were asked to tie their tag to. VIP guests enjoyed even more special touches, including embroidered canvas totes and exclusive keepsakes.

Creativity, Confidence & Connection

With steaming cups of coffee and tea in hand, attendees mingled, shared their excitement, and settled in for a day that promised to transform not only their design skills but their perspective on creativity itself. We kicked off with engaging exercises designed to break the ice, sweep away doubts, and ignite confidence—because true artistry isn’t just about skill, it’s about mindset.

Then, we got to work. As I guided the group through sketching techniques, color theory, and composition, the room buzzed with enthusiasm. Each participant brought their own unique style to the process, capturing the essence of their floral visions on paper before bringing them to life. The air was filled with creativity, encouragement, and those magical “aha!” moments when a technique clicked or a design came together just right.

Beyond the Sketchpad: Hands-On Floral Design

After a delicious private buffet lunch in the Lafayette Room, where we bonded over shared passions, creative journeys, and aspirations, we returned for the next phase: floral arranging. As attendees gathered around the table overflowing with lush pinks, creams, taupes, and burnt orange blooms, they learned step-by-step floral preparation and foam-free arranging techniques—a true game-changer for sustainable, artistic event design.

The beauty of this workshop wasn’t just in the flowers, but in the perfect balance of structure and creative freedom. Each guest hand-selected their own floral elements, following guided principles while infusing their personal artistic touch. As I moved around the room, offering one-on-one support, I witnessed a remarkable transformation—attendees who started the day with hesitations were now designing with confidence, trusting their instincts, and embracing their unique artistic styles.

A Grand Finale: The Ultimate Tablescape Experience

But we didn’t stop there! With the help of Classy Event Rentals, we took things to the next level—transforming individual centerpieces into an exquisite tablescape. Attendees worked together, setting the table with luxurious linens, elegant place settings, and their stunning floral creations, culminating in a breathtaking caterpillar-style tablescape fit for the most glamorous of weddings and events.

Attendees even received professional portraits with their centerpieces—a keepsake to remember the experience and showcase their newfound skills.
